THE MAN BEHIND

"Success is built on routes well-planned and partners well-chosen."

SERVICE

We support freight movement tied to port activity, regional drayage, and related brokerage coordination. The exact services offered may vary by lane, equipment availability, carrier capacity, and customer requirements.

WHAT WE OFFER

Port Drayage Coordination

Container pickups and deliveries associated with port activity, including coordination between terminals, yards, warehouses, and customer-designated delivery points.

Freight Brokerage Support

Load matching, dispatch coordination, communication support, and movement oversight for customers that need a dependable partner to help move freight through the port ecosystem..

Carrier & Contractor Network

Access to independent contractors and carrier partners who can help cover lanes as capacity and operational requirements allow.

Shipper Communication

Our brokerage operations emphasize clear and consistent communication with shippers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners. Port operations often involve tight scheduling windows, container availability constraints, and terminal coordination. Our role is to ensure that communication between all parties stays organized and predictable.

  • Coordinating pickup timing and container availability with port terminals and dispatch.

  • Communicating lane requirements, delivery expectations, and warehouse scheduling needs.

  • Providing operational updates when port congestion, weather, or other factors impact timing.

  • Maintaining communication channels between shippers, drivers, and receiving facilities.

  • Supporting sales and account management conversations for long-term shipping relationships.

Scalable Market Coverage

The structure of the business is designed to expand into multiple port markets over time with a focus on the most profitable lanes. Freight brokerage and drayage coordination benefit from scale, relationships with contractor carriers, and operational systems that can function across several regions.

  • Expansion into additional ports as operational capacity grows.

  • Development of contractor carrier networks in each operating region.

  • Sales relationships with importers, exporters, and distribution centers across multiple states.

  • Operational playbooks that can be replicated across ports.

  • Future opportunities to support international freight movement and additional logistics markets.

Relationship-Driven Service

The freight and logistics industry relies heavily on dependable relationships. Our goal is to work with shippers and contractor carriers who value professionalism and long-term cooperation. By maintaining practical expectations and clear service standards, we seek to build partnerships that last over time.

  • Working with reliable contractor carriers and owner-operators.

  • Building repeat freight opportunities for drivers who perform consistently.

  • Supporting shippers with dependable port-related logistics coordination.

  • Maintaining realistic service commitments and operational transparency.

  • Developing relationships that support long-term growth across multiple ports.

Costs

Brokerage costs

Costs are discussed directly with our sales team because pricing can depend on lane distance, port conditions, equipment needs, wait time exposure, container type, urgency, and ongoing volume commitments.

Why this Brand Direction Makes Sense

Rather than creating a one-off name for any particular port only, this website uses a broader parent-style brand that can scale across additional ports in the United States and potentially internationally as  well as other forms of transport in the future such as airplane, rail, and sea,

PARENT BRAND

BridgePort Logistics Group serves as the umbrella brand for freight brokerage, drayage coordination, and contractor carrier relationships across multiple logistics markets. The name was selected because it scales well as operations expand beyond major ports and to other transportation hubs.

  • Primary brand used across multiple U.S. port markets.

  • Supports both freight brokerage and contractor carrier relationships.

  • Flexible enough to expand into additional logistics services.

  • Positioned to support national and international freight operations.

  • Allows lanes to exploit such as Savannah. New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, etc.

NAME WITH INTERNATIONAL REACH

Not tied to any one port or type of freight transport gives the ability to cover all things with our unique expansive brand

WHY NOT A LOCAL-ONLY NAME

A local-only company name may work for a short-term launch, but it can create brand friction later when you add lanes from Charleston, Jacksonville, Houston, Long Beach, Newark, or international markets.

Drivers

For Drivers and Contractor Carriers

We want to work with dependable contractors who value professionalism, communication, and steady opportunity. This section is written to help drivers understand what we do support, what we do not support, and how the relationship is structured.

What we do for contractor drivers

  • Provide access to freight opportunities as available within our brokerage network.

  • Coordinate dispatch-related communication tied to booked loads.

  • Share load details, pickup and delivery expectations, and customer instructions when provided.

  • Work to build repeat opportunities for reliable, professional contractors.

  • Support relationship growth for owner-operators and small fleets that want more port-related opportunities.

  • Communicate expectations around paperwork, service standards, and compliance items needed for onboarding.

What we do not do for contractor drivers

  • We do not classify contractor drivers as full-time employees.

  • We do not guarantee a fixed number of loads, income level, or schedule.

  • We do not provide employee benefits, paid time off, or wage-based employment arrangements through the contractor model.

  • We do not control every aspect of how an independent contractor runs their separate business operations.

  • We do not assume responsibility for a contractor’s truck ownership costs, fuel, maintenance, taxes, insurance, permits, or other business expenses unless separately agreed in writing.

  • We do not represent that every market or day will have the same level of freight availability.

DO'S AND DONT'S

  • We offer guidance for individuals who want to become owner‑operators but do not yet own a truck.

  • Our program helps drivers understand the full pathway from driver to independent owner‑operator.

  • Participants are shown how to obtain the licenses and credentials needed to operate legally as a contractor carrier.

  • We help coordinate introductions to reputable third‑party training providers and CDL programs when needed.

  • Participants pay for their own training, licensing, and related expenses. BridgePort Logistics Group oversees and guides the process but does not pay these costs.

  • We introduce drivers to equipment providers, dealerships, and financing sources that may help them acquire their own truck.

  • BridgePort Logistics Group does not purchase trucks for drivers but helps them understand how to obtain trucks through their own financing or leasing arrangements.

Driver Development and Owner-operator Pathway

BUSINESS SETUP AND FINANCIAL GUIDANCE FOR CONTRACTORS

  • Drivers are encouraged to operate through their own business entity as independent contractors.

  • We provide guidance on how drivers can set up a basic business structure such as an LLC or corporation that may support their operations.

  • Drivers are shown the general steps involved in registering a business, obtaining EIN numbers, and establishing a business bank account.

  • We explain the importance of proper bookkeeping and financial tracking for owner‑operators.

  • Drivers receive guidance on maintaining records for fuel, maintenance, insurance, and operating expenses.

  • We help drivers understand how taxes typically work for independent contractor carriers and owner‑operators.

  • When appropriate, we may introduce drivers to outside professionals such as accountants, tax preparers, and bookkeeping services.

  • BridgePort Logistics Group does not provide legal or tax services directly; drivers remain responsible for their own business decisions and filings.
